[quote="Argoth":3k7njrsq]Totally not fair and not cool dude If anyone, Shir'le should be a demigod, or a divine agent, or an Outsider of Eilistraee's plain, and rather the one in Arvandor than the one in the Demonweb Pits. [/quote:3k7njrsq]
hey i didn't design the board and I do agree its incongruous with the level/posts system but....its still fun while it lasts
It's all a joke & to be taken in good humour
c'mon, who here hasn't fantasied about becoming a god, even if for a little while hm?
Besides, level 10 is rather low to be ascending to demigod status isn't it? I mean as far as powers go, I'd be like a zero HD god, easy picking indeed! yet still, I shall ride it for all its worth.
As Zero Mostel said in the film The Producers,

Maybe I should re-evaluate some of the post ranks. It's not entirely fair considering that those joining the Chosen group (Faithful and Maids) don't really rise in rank.
Tying something into XP instead of postcount might be tricky though as it means changing the some of the coding. "Demigod" just means that you've made 1000 posts.
Anyway, it's something to consider. If anyone has any suggestions then I'm all ears.

Getting demigod status for the 1000 post mark is a little over the top especially when, as Shir'le has said, the Chosen just become faithful.
Perhaps something that releated to the character class level may be more appros? Say if you're a fighter and you hit lv 10, you become a Lord? Cleric becomes a Prelate etc.
I recall in the old D&D texts they had names for each level that the character had achieved and perhaps this could be incorporated here?

Right now the post ranks are as follows:
0 - Traveler
10 - Regular
50 - Resident
100 - Scribe
250 - Chronicler
500 - Legend
1000 - Demigod
2500 - Deity
5000 - Ao Incarnate
They can be changed easily enough (both point values needed and names).
The thing is that [i:fwwlktmj]most[/i:fwwlktmj] people here get a manually set title for joining the Chosen of Eilistraee usergroup. For those we’ve currently got:
Maid
Dark Lady
High Priestess
Faithful
Silver Blade
General
[i:fwwlktmj]Those[/i:fwwlktmj] don’t change unless they’re manually changed; so postcount doesn’t factor into it. The original idea was that people could rise in rank by partaking in a test of Eilistraeen knowledge and understanding, but that never materialized (I got quite a way with making one for Neverwinter Nights, but never completed it). It would be possible, I think, to do the test in IRC (though it might help if I make some preperations first to have some pre-written texts ready), but then we would have to start setting that up.
Next to that I would ideally want something where users get names based on class/group or such combined with experience value (so that at certain levels you can get new rank names based on your class), preferably such that those in the “Chosen of Eilistraee” group get different rank names from those who aren’t. But that requires a fair bit of reprogramming of the forum software; probably not [i:fwwlktmj]that[/i:fwwlktmj] hard (I could probably use the same system I used for the experience points to begin with now that I think of it), just requires some work.
And of course we’d need a good list of rank names.
As it is the post ranks (those based on postcount) are more of a joke; they don’t really mean anything beyond “this user made a lot of posts”. But I agree that the system could use some work and that it would be nicer to use experience and class and such.

Chosen of Eilistraee
Yes, but changing or adding new classes to the profile is fairly easy on the user's side, so what if I change my 12 levels of bard to a sorcerer? I'm not a programmer myself, but I guess it would incorporate an additional database and some more variables, that would react to the chosen classes for each user's profile. Just a though, as I've said I'm not into programming. It's just an assumption I'd find important.
The Chosen titles can remain as they are, sure I'd like to have a title higher to faithful, but still it does indicate my devotion to Eilistraee and her cause. The post number based titles... Well that would have to incorporate class names. People could incorporate those themselves. For example in Song and Silence are mentioned various bard associations and each has (probably) different titles for their members, just like clerics of different deities have their own titles like Painbearer, or Dreadlord (the later may be mistaken, I think it's a prestige class of some sort).

Ok I've done some extensive websearching for character level titles and have come up with the following, which are the 4 main archtype/basic character classes which most PC classes fall under.
Sorry about the formating but copypasta doesn't seem to include tabs etc
