Yes, I've definitely become the resident recluse of the forum. To make up for it, I offer this:

[youtube:3bymx5nr]80kOBeMEm2I[/youtube:3bymx5nr]

I don't think this song specifically embodies Eilistraee, but I'm told the song is actually about a drow named Nemo. I can certainly hear it in the lyrics, longing to dream again and such. As such I felt it belonged here more than in the standard music videos thread.

Also I apologize if I put this up once before, I have a vague memory of wanting to, but no idea if I actually did...enjoy.

Lyrics are as follows:

[i:3bymx5nr]This is me fought forever
One of the lost ones
The one without a name
Without an honest heart as compass

This is me fought forever
One without a name
These lines the last endeavour
To find the missing life-line

Oh, how I wish for soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything

My flower, withered between
The pages 2 and 3
The once and forever bloom
Gone with my sins

Walk the dark path, sleep with angels
Call the past for help
Touch me with your love
And reveal to me my true name

Oh, how I wish for soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my eveything

Oh, how I wish for soothing rain
Oh, how I wish to dream again
Once and for all and all for once
Nemo my name forevermore

Nemo sailing home...
Nemo letting go...

Oh, how I wish for soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my eveything

Oh, how I wish for soothing rain
Oh, how I wish to dream again
Once and for all and all for once
Nemo my name forevermore

Name forevermore...[/i:3bymx5nr]

And what better describes former devotees of Lolth than the line daughters of sin?

I have no proof, it's only what a friend of mine told me who knows more about this kind of thing than I do. The lyrics do kind of fit a lost drow looking for a place though, don't it? Just the kind of soul Eilistraee would seek to comfort and redeem.

I just found this piece which is aptly titled.

While it is only an instrumental piece, it does I believe, fit in with Eilistraee.

I hope you all like it :)

I have a number of his albums and he is indeed quite the artist. I can just see someone with his talent being a bard in the Realms blessed by one or more of the gods of song.

You chose wisely Tal.

Thanks Narsia :)

Now I've been thinking about the following piece of music for quite some time.

For me at least, I believe it sums up that Eilistraean motiff of haunting, melancholic wordless song that Drow Priestesses and the Goddess herself would sing.

A single voice hums the haunting melancholic refrain and soon a chorus of voices blend in, harmonising the melody.

I think it's perfect.

I believe this song could be a drow who wanted to leave Lloth's drow society. This would be before he or she found Eilistraee.

The following song I submit for acceptance into the Lady's archives, not because of the song itself, but because of the song and the energy with which it was performed. I had recently watched this, Celtic Woman's latest concert DVD, and the way in which they performed this song that spoke of an unending party under the light of the glowing moon, having such a grand time doing it, epitomizes our Goddess' power to spread joy and laughter to the people.

Why, I found myself smiling from ear to ear and wanting to get up and dance to the song in what little space I have to do such in my bedroom. I hope it will have the same effect on all of you. My love for these women's passion for music is such that, were it in my power, I would make them all honorary songstresses of Eilistraee.

Hello everyone,

As a very new presence on the forum here I'd like to couple my greetings with music that may prove pleasant and appropriate.

Most songs that fit this thread's theme in my eyes have been already posted or mentioned here. Hopefully I can contribute with findings of my own. The greatest phenomenon about music is that one can interpret it in so many ways, of course.

The ones I'm posting are for the most part from the same authors - who often create music for trailers. May you find them as soothing or touching as I do. While they may not strictly refer to Eilistraee, or even to this game we all cherish in one way or the other, I humbly hope the songs' message comes across where appropriate. Music is more than part of a game or a moodsetter. We've been blessed with it to reach out to other souls, or to delve deeper into our own. That's what Eilistraee promotes as well as far as I understand. After all that little philosophical chanting, hello again and enjoy what I've humbly to offer.

Eria (the theme of my main FR character) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ4_vb3r ... re=related

Great Spirits (possibly a song of thanksgiving or prayer) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0QncA1V ... re=related

Moonshine (that's more like it title-wise, eh?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ub6BuUiV ... re=related

A tél dala (a Hungarian song about winter festivity) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-0nfYSn ... re=related

Tűztánc (again a Hungarian song, "Flamedance", could fit a dance around the bonfire... yes? Possibly after a Hunt or just being in one of those overly joyous, whimsical moods) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh5WFjUtZhQ

Lost in Las Vegas (title is betraying; the song fits well for dancing, and has been used as inspiration before to write about my character's first communal dance. And be warned, it is long.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2waDCBW3l6w

The Healing (from the Lady of the Water soundtrack; very well symbolising growth and, indeed, the healing of a lost soul as they find Eilistraee) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U06IPcob ... re=related

Here's a beautiful song that I found. Despite the relatively peaceful background music, it's a war song. Frankly, I can picture an army of Scottish or Irish women singing this song to their husbands before they go off to battle during the Middle Ages. I present "March of the Cambreadth" by Heather Alexander.
