I'm hesitant, but that's because of the changes to Forgotten Realms that they made. It's bad enough that they got rid of Eilistraee. Hopefully they bring her back for 5th. I digress, though. I'm willing to give it a chance, but I'm going to be hesitant.

To be honest, I feel myself being like this at times. That being said, I try to balance my cynicism with actively trying to find endeavors that bring joy to my life.

Well, source material aside, I would say logically, the answer is yes. Eilistraee is a good deity, and is represented as loving her worshipers. I think it would make sense that she would wish for her followers to do everything within reason in order to survive.
