Re: Frosty Moral Delimma....

<r>LOL! That was basically my stance as well. You should have seen some of the responses I got when posing this question over at CK. There were a few who apparently thought Frosty was going to become a threat by building an army of living snowmen to turn Faerun into their own winter wonderland and w...

Re: A Clone Encounter Comment

Well, that does sound like something that might have been on one of the Stargate-portal worlds. Of course, Veraka has the final say, since it's his campaign, but that sounds fine to me. Anyone else think it will work?

Re: A Clone Encounter Comment

<t>Well, if I might offer a suggestion, since we're talking about an alternate dimension/universe (and we all nkow that FR is connected to many other planes and worlds) why not intro him/her via a "Stargate"? Since we're already bringing in elements from several other universes, I think that would f...

Re: Half Moon Inn OOC

I wouldn't worry too much about it. People sometimes go for days or (gasp) weeks without posting, and will just jump back in an catch up when they come back. She's probably just busy with the holidays and other matters ATM. It is that most hectic time of year, after all!

<t>Well, here are the song lyrics, at least! You can probably find the film posted somewhere on you-tube. <br/> <br/> <br/> "Frosty the Snowman"<br/> <br/> Frosty the Snowman<br/> Was a jolly happy soul<br/> With a corncob pipe and a button nose<br/> And two eyes made out of coal<br/> <br/> Frosty t...

Re: Frosty Moral Delimma....

<t>Well, I suppose if he had become evil and started freezing people, or killing, stealing, going on a rampage in the town, perhaps it would be justified in "executing" him by taking it off, but esentially, what the magician was trying to do was remove a life-sustaining device from an innocent "pers...

Re: Happy New Year, Holiday

<r>Nope, now we just get to wait until the NEXT "end of the world". See, that's how it suckers you in- it keeps dangling false apocalypes at us until we become immune to hearing about it. Then WHAM! It hits us when we least expect it, and are totally caught with our collective pants down! <E>...

Re: Frosty Moral Delimma....

<t>Not familiar with the folklore? Does that mean you've never heard the song? There is a line in the song that goes "there must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found...." Presumably, it was the hat (which in the animated X-Mas film was tossed out by a failed magician) that brought hi...

Re: Question of opinion!

<t>In the Deities and Demigods book from AD&D (1980), Hercules was listed as a full demi-god in the Greek pantheon, which is, AFAIK, the only time he was ever actually fully statted for the game. It did mention that he will have nothing to do with magic-users or clerics, which I assume means tha...

Re: Frosty Moral Delimma....

<t>IIRC, he had tossed it off the train after the rabbit laughed at him for not being able to make it work. How is Frosty at fault? He wasn't the one who found it- the kids were. And since giving it back would basically "kill" him, is that really even an arguement? I guess the question is which is m...

Frosty Moral Delimma....

<t>I know that this is neither FR nor theological, as such, but since it's a moral question, I decided to post it here, since it doesn't really fit anywhere else.... And besides, in the spirit of the holidays ('tis the season for miracles, after all, LOL!) I thought this would be a fun topic for thi...

Re: Question of opinion!

<t>Actually, Hercules/Heracles would be more of a demigod, since he DID have divine strength and toughness. While he was not immortal, he was also extremely resistant to illness and injury. It took a trick by a vengeful dead foe (Nessus the centaur) and the anger of a jealous wife (using Nessus bloo...

<t>The bard nods in agreement. "Yes; I, too, enjoy watching a fellow performer practice their art. And I'm always interested in learning some new steps to use of the floor AND on the battlefield. After all, all of life is but a dance, is it not? The dance of predator and prey, of life and death- the...

Re: Think Eilistraee has many Saints?

IIRC, Quilue would fit the definitions of both a Chosen (and she IS called Eilistraee's Chosen) AND a saint (she was both exemplary in the faith, and died in service to it). I'd say she is both.
